Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A is to be contained within a standard containment safe secluded from other copies of Old Yeller. In the event of a containment breach, Researcher Adamo Smalls has been designated as the leading XXXX-Project specialist and should be contacted.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the collective designation referring to a group of pataphysical elements occurring in instances of media left in close physical proximity to a copy of Old Yeller by Fred Gibson, designated SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A is similar to a non-anomalous copy of Old Yeller until page XXX. In a non-anomalous copy, this is where protagonist Travis Coates, subdesignated SCP-XXXX-a, would euthanize his pet Old Yeller, subdesignated SCP-XXXX-2, due to a rabies infection. In SCP-XXXX, the plot diverges into SCP-XXXX-1 tying SCP-XXXX-2 to a stake, and traveling to a small snipers' nest located in a tree "a whole mile away from the homestead". Following this, SCP-XXXX-1 will produce a U.S SOCOM Precision Sniper Rifle and attempt to execute SCP-XXXX-2 via a bullet to the cranium.

Although the method of execution is the same, there have been several listed deviations in the text itself. This ranges from the location of the snipers' nest, the thoughts SCP-XXXX-1 has en route, and the degree of struggle exhibited by SCP-XXXX-2. Regardless, SCP-XXXX-1 will always be ultimately unsuccessful in its task, the story consistently ending with SCP-XXXX-2 escaping from the homestead.

Recovery Incident: SCP-XXXX was discovered on XX/YY/ZZZZ at Mount Pleasant Public Library when eight iterations of Travis Coates and Old Yeller were "recruited" by SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 and congregated into a singular copy. Reviewing the origin text (now designated as SCP-XXXX-A), this began when SCP-XXXX-2 was depicted as chewing through their binds and escaping SCP-XXXX-1's home. SCP-XXXX-2 then fled to the nearest copy of Old Yeller, announcing its intention to "liberate" other Old Yeller iterations.

As a result, each copy of Old Yeller interacted with by either SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXXX-2 displayed a tonal shift in its prose, taking on a grittier, darker tone.

Document XXXX.1: The following is the excerpt from SCP-XXXX-A denoted as the point of divergence.
