Special Containment Procedures: Foundation webcrawler Delta-656 (“MYFAVORITECARTOON”) is to continuously monitor the web for any material which mentions SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-A events, and the possibility of missing material related to SCP-XXXX being rediscovered. Mentions of SCP-XXXX-A events are to be copied, downloaded onto a secure hard-drive, and deleted. Persons which have indicated that they have experienced an SCP-XXXX-A event are to be located an administered the appropriate amnestics. It is to be ensured that the person in question continues to remain aware of SCP-XXXX's existence, with the exception of its anomalous properties.
Foundation operatives assigned to Operation "Shine a Light" are to interact with civilians actively searching for undiscovered episodes of SCP-XXXX daily.
Any uncovered episodes of SCP-XXXX are to be downloaded to Foundation Potentially Anomalous Storage Desktop 12 Office 16 in Site-23. Uncovered episodes are to be scanned for anomalous properties similar to SCP-XXXX-A events. In the event this occurs, the file in question is to be downloaded to Foundation Anomalous Storage Desktop 21 Office 16 in Site-23.
At least one recovered episode of SCP-XXXX is to be viewed by a level-2 researcher or higher each week.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an animated program titled “Shadow the Cat and his Other-Worldly Adventures in the Wallowburry Woods”. Out of fifty-six documented episodes, the Foundation has only uncovered twenty-two to date. When seven or more days pass without at least one episode of SCP-XXXX being viewed, a random civilian will be transported into a currently unrecovered episode of SCP-XXXX, and return seven days after the initial event. These have been deemed SCP-XXXX-A events.
Note: The conclusion that the episodes civilians were transported to were unrecovered was based on two facts:
1. The places described did not match any currently available episodes of the show.
2. To date, five of the places described had notable similarities to five of the twelve available summaries for the unrecovered episodes.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a cartoon black cat character named "Shadow" present within every discovered episode of SCP-XXXX. To this date, SCP-XXXX-1 has been recorded to be the only character within SCP-XXXX to display sentience. During SCP-XXXX-A events when civilians are present within episodes of SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-1 is the only character noted to be aware that the civilian is present and the changes they make to the plot.
Discovery: On 06/17/2019, Site-23 webcrawler Delta-500 ("Discover-Bot") was in the midst of a routine web sweep when it discovered a series of posts on the social media platform "twitter" which described how the user had "been transported to another world". The settings described had notable similarities to SCP-XXXX (at the time, did not hold SCP status). The posts were initially dismissed as a hoax. On 08/23/2019 when Foundation employee Dr. Mya White spontaneously demanifested from her office. Dr. White returned a week later, explaining that she had visited "a world full of cartoon animals". The descriptions given by Dr. White were notably similar to those listed in the twitter posts discovered two months prior. The posts were removed, and containment efforts were enacted.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX-A Events
The following is an abridged list of SCP-XXXX events. For the entire list, see SCP-XXXX Document A.
| Event # | Source | Subject Summary |
|---|---|---|
| #1 | "The weirdest thing just happened man; I suddenly got transported to some weird cartoon universe. There was this cat named Shadow, this snake named Ozzie, and a few other animals. I was a butterfly like I dunno man maybe it was a drug trip or hallucination. I remember the animals all went on some adventure through the woods, completed some puzzles for some reason?? they animals seemed to be trying to teach the lesson of being nice to strangers I think cause they met a fox named Hannah and that seemed to be the lesson idk. there were these rats that wanted to stop them from completing the puzzles and plot and stuff but the snake chased away the rats it was weird. also only Shadow payed attention to me. the others like, completely ignored me. it was so weird." |
