STF Beta-5 | "Playground Maintenance" | A stationary task-force stationed as Site Security at Area-CH4. All members of Beta-5 are trained with the Julian-Maynard System of Mental Separation (JaMMS), as to avoid unwanted attachment to the entities located within Area-CH4 |
As mention above, STF Beta-5 is a collection of 25 individuals collected from around the Foundation Site Security Roster that showed;
- A high-profile report
- Consistent loyalty test marks of above 35
- Track record of being involved in high profile/top secret incidents
(subject to change)
Upon selection, they are sent through the JaMMS program to help avoid connection with the anomalous children on-site. Due to this, however, they are borderline forceful when dealing with the children on-site (though not to the point of causing security infractions). Below details the most significant members that'll probably come up in the story.
James Ridian | TL | Responsible for the whole team - coordinates day and night patrols and keeps in contact with ERT ABC-12. Rarely joins patrols - acts as a hub for the group. |
Oliver Kennedy | Echo-1 | Most frequently acting as night time patrol supervisor. Holds a little bit of a grudge on James for that reason - assumes the other is picking on him. |
Lola Paulsy | Beta-2 | Acts as technical support for the rest of the team. Fixes audio and radio communications and frequently mans the Site Radio (before and after hours) |
Lauren Smith | De. TL | Errand runner, more often than not. As De. TL, she acts as the link between the somewhat high-and-mighty James and the rest of the team, relaying instructions given along with giving voice to team concerns. Handy with a shotgun. |
ERT ABC-12 | "Playmates" | Emergency Response Team that deals with possible breach of information or physical escape of any entity on-site. Armed and trained in ranged and close-range combat, ABC-12 have undergone experimental trials of JaMMS/4 in an attempt to nullify all feelings towards the entities inside Area-CH4; currently successful. |
I'm not too sure about the implementation of these guys yet but I think they'll be good if I ever reach a colossal breach scenario in which the QU kids make an escape (or perhaps just a regular kids too). Maybe information gets leaked? Who knows.
Might do a staff roster here too, still a little conflicted about that.

Standard Designations of Entities held at Area-CH4
Due to the Information Negation Act (INA) present throughout the facility to prevent any unwanted information leaks, the entities (colloquially called children and subjects by members of researcher staff) are referred to by given or preferred name.
Below, for ease of access for staff and Foundation administrators, are a list of designations and terms used to identify groupings of entities or particular entities.
QU : Quarantined entities are entities either awaiting transfer to a main Foundation Site or Area due to threat to themselves/research staff/other entities or entities that have just arrived on-site, awaiting preliminary testing and medical examination.
SA : Safe entities are entities that have cleared preliminary testing and medical examinations and have proved eligible to continue with the habitation of Area-CH4. Safe entities are eligible of this designation, regardless of the threat of their anomalous abilities (see 'Threat Levels').
INV : Investigative entities are currently under watch or investigation for potential informational or physical leaks, including actively attempting to access restricted areas and leaving quarters after set time. INV designations can also be used on a provisional basis for research staff if GOI involvement is suspected.
Threat Levels
ELT : Entry Level Threat is used to describe entities with minimal risk/useful anomalous properties. One such entity is SA-ELT-"Feld", with the ability to create small-scale objects that he is allowed to know the molecular structure of. Such abilities, if left unchecked, could potentially pose a threat to Foundation security but is easily controlled. Comparable to Safe Class SCPs.
MLT : Medium Level Threat is used to describe entities with inherently risky/dangerous anomalous properties. One such entity is SA-MLT-"Melissa" who possesses the ability to create autonomous, sentient miniature people out of scrap parts and natural materials. Comparable to Euclid Class SCPs.
HLT : Hazardous Level Threat is a provisional identifier that is most often used for QU entities or outside aggressors attempting to breach site security. In the event of a HLT breach, Site Lockdown initiatives are to be taken.
Facilities And Wings
- Living Facilities - Each member of staff has their own room, containing (but not limited to); a bed, a desk, a chair, a radio, a shelf and one radiator right next to the bed. It gets cold, it really does.
- Laboratory and Research Facilities - Area-CH4, being a specialist research area along with housing, needs an awful lot of testing space. The Laboratory and Research Wing is outfitted with biological and psychological testing chambers and rooms, along with Standardized Humanoid Testing Chambers (SHTC/HTC) 1-10. For specified needs to be met, please refer to the in-depth HTC classifications in the on-site handbook, pg. 156.
- Common Rooms - Common Rooms are commonplace, no pun intended, across the span of Area-CH4. All of which, apart from the two underground for Beta-5 and ABC-12, have scenic views of the mountains and lakes around them, equipped with two couches, vending machines and several magazines to read through. TVs are sparse throughout the facility, thanks to the lack of appropriate signal, though one does exist in Common Room 6.
- Mess Hall - The mess hall in Area-CH4 provides for both the anomalies that reside inside and the researchers, albeit at different times of the day. Dietary and allergenic needs can be met upon request, though ethnic dishes (such as 'Watershack Tonora') have been denied because of the inability and cost-effectiveness of obtaining the correct ingredients.
- Preliminary Testing - Used specifically for the testing of new arrivals on-site, the Preliminary Testing rooms 1-5 are one of the few sections to be given the honour of being located underground. All rooms are staged with Class II airlocks and hermetically sealed windows, tinted for good measure. Aside from the varying levels of death that may or may not have happened there, they're relatively nice, for preliminary testing rooms.
- Medical Wing A - Also one of the few wings to have the honour of being underground, the Medical Wing A is home to specific surgery and rehabilitation procedures, such as radiography and MRIs. Paediatric wards are held in Medical Wing B, a minor wing held above ground to care for the humanoid anomalies. The staff, however, could care less about that.
- Gym - The gym is rather small compared to most sites, containing four (4) treadmills, four (4) cross-trainers and five (5) rowing machines. The joining room features several yoga mats, training pads and training staffs for releasing a little pent up aggression against a co-worker that you might have. Just try to avoid broken teeth - Area-CH4 doesn't cover dental, no matter how much you beg.
- Classrooms - Due to the age of the anomalies taken into Area-CH4's walls, the developing minds of children must always be pandered to. Using a select group of teachers and researchers who are rotated out and amnestized on a bi-monthly basis, classes are run on a three-day week teaching fundamental Science, English and Maths. They are also used to provide limited entertainment using books, a monitored radio and pre-approved graphic novels.
- Dormitory Wing - A long wing that provides living space, showering and bathroom facilities along with two (2) common areas for the anomalous entities of varying threat levels. Male and Female entities are split into different dormitories, further divided by age groups of 1-10, 11-14 and 15-18. The common rooms are also divided by age though it's a little more lenient, going from 1-12 and 13-18. Shower and bathroom facilities are kept within respective male and female dormitories.
- Barracks - Area-CH4 is home to STF Beta-5 ("Playground Maintenance") and thus needs to provide shelter for the hard-working operatives that spend their lives here. Notoriously difficult to get along with and notoriously tough, the Area-CH4 Barracks reflect their occupants too. Tough and oddly close to each other. The barracks are, however, equipped with their own kitchen unit and three (3) mini-fridges, so they have no right to complain.
- Meeting Rooms - The meeting rooms (colloquially referred to as 'Oh god, not that place again') is a place where Area-CH4 collects its directors, head of staff, TL and De. TL to converge with other Foundation Sites and Areas across the world, reporting their findings. Because of the inherently risky and experimental nature of the ACC Division, reports are to be carried out on a monthly basis and failure to adhere to that is generally either seen as an emergency or hiding an emergency.
- Mass SRA Array - Located beneath, around and inside of the facility, high-powered SRAs (Scranton Reality Anchors, Model VII) are placed and maintained by skilled maintenance staff to nullify and negate any potential/known reality benders that the facility contains. There is currently a total of 12 SRAs on-site, placed at standardized compass points. Total number of reality benders on-site totals to 5, as of the December 2018 report.

A Note from Area Director Violet Maynard
The ACC Division - Anomalous Children's Center - was a risky move that I agreed to undertake when proposing the project.
The point of this project is, at it's core, potentially finding a counter-balance between anomalous and normal that we can realistically uphold and further projecting that onto humanity. This project could mean peace for the entire world, if successful. If not, then there would be no downwards benefit for such an act to have ever happened.
Yet, we are faced with scrutiny. We - the research staff, the security team, the maintenance team, Beta-5 and ABC-12 - are faced with the question of 'what if'. What if something goes wrong? What if these children cannot be contained?
To them, I say; So what?
Progress has never once been stifled by the crying concerns of those who do not understand the subject at hand. Progress is about carving a way through roads less traveled; without progress, we would not have been able to contain 106. We would not have made early betas of LSSs or SRAs.
Humanity would have died in the dark without stepping foot into the unknown light of the fire.
At the end of the day, this project could mean so much more than just a home for these children. It could mean a home for all. It could mean acceptance, peace, advancements in science.
It might even mean that we have no use anymore. That's a good thing.
The Foundation is a necessary branch of humanity. We protect those who cannot protect themselves. We risk our lives on the daily to attempt to secure, contain and protect the things that others simply cannot comprehend. If humanity no longer as a need for the Foundation, it means we have done our job and done it well.
So, for all the skeptics and critiques we have faced, I say we shall continue. Area-CH4 will become a place for innovation, upholding the goal that this Area was based on.
We shall achieve peace, one way or another.
- Dr Violet Maynard, Site Director
Oh boy.
One Sentence Summary ; "Anomalous children search for their pasts, tangling several researchers and STF members into their plot for escape."
I need to build characters damn it. Fuck.
The letter to I&BS
Imagine, if you will, a Foundation Day-Care. 24/7, 7 days a week, 28-31 days a month, 12 months a year. Just with significantly more anomalous children than is probably necessary. Someone call Dumbledore.
The ACC Division; The Foundation's Day-Care.
The A.C.C Division, founded by Director Violet Maynard, is a program that extracts potentially anomalous children from society and houses them in a remote Area in Austria; Area-CH4. This Area was created with one function in mind, par from the usual Secure, Contain, Protect;
Find A Balance, Protect The Future.
The facility focuses on education, research and housing for these anomalous children. As with all things that hold so much promise of hope, however, there are several things that simply do not sit right.
Ethics Committee involvement, Tactile abilities, Utilization.
Testing.
And what happens if things come undone? Children are curious, after all.
The above little paragraph or so is a relatively shortened synopsis/blurb of what me and ashburystreet does not match any existing user name are aiming to do. The A.C.C (Anomalous Children's Center) Division is a division solely created for the housing, research and potential reintegration/introduction of anomalous children into 'normal' society.
Of course, there are obvious security and liability risks that have to be taken into account and more than a few steps to void the children of their human status, which doesn't always prove successful in some cases. The whole idea of the A.C.C Division was to challenge what the Foundation saw as 'humane' and to blur the line between 'violent and dangerous skips' and 'estranged people with lives'.
Most of the characters within the A.C.C Division will not actually have skip files on the main wiki, rather character dossiers within the actual canon itself (unless we decide otherwise - the A.C.C Division was meant to be a differing branch of the Foundation with slightly conflicting ethics).
Please tell us what you think and if anything more needs to be ironed out! Thank you very much!
