Street variants of SCP-YYYY-1

Special Containment Procedures: All original copies of SCP-YYYY are presumed destroyed or injested. Current containment efforts should be focused on locating any replicated version of SCP-YYYY in metropolitan or rural areas where drug activity is high. MTF-Rho-68 ("Drug Bust") are to monitor areas of high criminal activity for any synthetic or original strain of SCP-YYYY. Efforts to locate the original test batch of SCP-YYYY or Dr. O████ are currently being persued. halted for the foreseeable future, though several interactions between Dr. O████ and Foundation personnel have been logged.

Due to the widespread use of SCP-YYYY amoungst civillian populous in early 2009, SCP-YYYY was declassified to the general public as a "street drug" that was included in numerous anti-drug campaigns in developed countries under the name "Anny". Any and all suspected instances of SCP-YYYY are to be collected and returned to Foundation custody.

Description: SCP-YYYY refers to an experimental formula used to create SCP-YYYY-1, developed by Dr. O████ in 1987. SCP-YYYY-1 is a white, tasteless, odourless pills that can be taken orally or disolved to be taken intraveinously. SCP-YYYY - previously dubbed "Amnestic A_009Y" - was developed using laboratory methods and anomalous methods, creating a pseudo-anomalous compound with similar, albeit weaker, effects to that of pre-existing Class-A amnestics. Whilst the inital testing logs of SCP-YYYY-1 exist, all copies of the formula used to create SCP-YYYY-1 have been destroyed, corrupted, deleted or stolen.

Testing on synthetic street strains of SCP-YYYY-1 indicated mixtures of other street drugs and an unidentified anomalous compound that appears to be a weak anti-memetic. It has been determined that the anomalous compound is similar, if not the same as, the anomalous compound detailed in SCP-YYYY. How civillian populations have access to such a compound is currently unknown and appears to be unknowable.

SCP-YYYY-1 has shown to be highly addictive, exibiting addictive responses as opioids and stimulants, but does not appear to have any outward physical withdrawl symptoms. Many reported not being able to remember the hours before, during and after use after being away from the drug for approximately four (4) hours, and report issues with their short term memory for 1-3 weeks after use.

Symptoms of SCP-YYYY-1 abuse are variable from user to user, but are typically characterized via the following list. The following list is to be distributed inside of rehabilitation centers, anti-drug campaigns and hospitals for ease of identifying addicts. As one of the properties of SCP-YYYY-1 addiction involves the user gaining anti-memetic qualities, any person that meets said specification will be overlooked in surveys, interviews and registrars.
