SCP-XXXX-3

Make the tardigrades previously an actual MTF that was transformed

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid Thaumiel

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX are to be contained within modified Foundation personnel quarters to accommodate for the physical limitations of SCP-XXXX. Pathways are to be constructed between quarters to allow interaction between SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX are to be provided one live sheep for consumption on a bi-daily basis. SCP-XXXX are allowed to interact with Foundation personnel once per week while being accompanied by one Level 2/XXXX personnel for morale purposes.

The deployment of MTF-Tau-15 (“Water Bears”) is to be approved by two Level 3/XXXX personnel prior to their deployment. Equipment used by SCP-XXXX during assignments is to go through intensive decontamination following the return of SCP-XXXX. The utilization of SCP-XXXX on Lunar-Area 23 is currently pending approval.

Description: SCP-XXXX are the formerly human members of the disbanded Mobile Task Force Tau-15 (“Water Bears”). SCP-XXXX resemble anomalously large tardigrade, measuring an average of 46 centimeters in length. SCP-XXXX’s bodies secrete a thin watery mucus, allowing them to breathe while traversing land. SCP-XXXX’s bodies are covered in a watery mucus, allowing it to breathe while traversing land. SCP-XXXX are omnivorous, using their tubular mouth to pierce living organisms and exsanguinate them. SCP-XXXX have fairly poor mobility due to their short jointless legs, although they are able to traverse large slopes using claws found on the bottom of their feet.

SCP-XXXX extremophilic resistances found in normal tardigrade. Unlike tardigrade, SCP-XXXX are not required to enter cryptobiosis1 to benefit from these resistances, albeit to a reduced degree. Due to this, SCP-XXXX are able to partially resistant to extreme temperatures, ionizing, gamma, and UV radiation, extreme pressures, toxic substances, and the vacuum of space. SCP-XXXX are unable to suspend their metabolism, and are not resistant to natural ailments such as starvation, dehydration, and disease.

SCP-XXXX are sapient, possessing intelligent comparable to that of an adult human. SCP-XXXX lack the vocal structures necessary for speech, and require a modified touchpad to communicate with researchers through a text generator. Through discussions with SCP-XXXX, it has been determined that the entities still possess memories formed prior to their transformations, including their Foundation employment. SCP-XXXX have displayed knowledge of advanced Foundation combat training, although the effectiveness of more advanced tactics vary due to limited mobility and maneuverability. SCP-XXXX have expressed difficulty living in their current states. Several members of SCP-XXXX have suggested that they could be off some assistance to the Foundation, although a majority of these suggestions have been vague in direction and utility.

Addendum: Included below is the transcript of an interview conducted with SCP-XXXX-5, the previous leader of MTF-Tau-15.

Put interview document here. Sort of explanation of his this happened and an excuse to rag on tardigrades.

NOTES:
Following several tests to ensure SCP-XXXX’s continued loyalty to the Foundation and its mission, Mobile Task Force Tau-15 (“Water Bears”) has been reestablished. SCP-XXXX have been outfitted with specially designed carbon fiber armor and body mounted firearms for use in deployment. Due to SCP-XXXX’s natural resistances, Tau-15 specialize in the containment of anomalies located in harmful of uninhabitable environments. Researchers interacting with SCP-XXXX have reported increased levels of morale within the colony, along with increased cooperation during testing.

SCP-XXXX have been observed utilizing maneuvers taught in standard Foundation combat training, employing fairly advanced tactics to overpower larger organisms. SCP-XXXX will use markshift projectiles while hunting, such as sharpened twigs, small rocks, and bone fragments. SCP-XXXX have also been observed using their extremophilic abilities to escape conflicts and avoid predators, such as entering areas that would severely harm other organisms that don’t possess said abilities.
Addendum: Included below is the transcript of an interview conducted with SCP-XXXX-52 following several requests to speak with personnel.

Interviewer: Dr. Katlynn Lavash

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-5

<BEGIN LOG>

This is very crude and unfinished

Dr. Lavash: Alright, it’s recording.

SCP-XXXX-5: Thank you for agreeing to meet with me on such short notice.

Dr. Lavash: Of course. What was it that you wanted to discuss?

SCP-XXXX-5: I was wondering how my colony’s suggestions for possible employment were faring. Are they still being considered?

Dr. Lavash: Not… necessarily. Although we have taken it into consideration, we don’t believe that your colony would be very well equipped in operating nuclear facilities.

SCP-XXXX-5: What about the space travel suggestion?

Dr. Lavash: That has also been declined, as it would require you to enter cryptobiosis, meaning you wouldn’t be able to operate any machinery required for space travel.

SCP-XXXX-5: How about… exploration?
