GOD SAVE THE KING

Lothair's Turtles

Paranormal Object

A species of leatherback turtle of unusual size (four foot at the top of the shell), with no physical deformations other than its size

The species has been named for the disgraced alchemist of antiquity who is believed to have experimented in the creation of artificial life.

Threat Posed

Near-benign

Origins

Potentially originating from within the Holy Roman Empire, however this is unconfirmed. The object was initially offered to King Ferdinand the Second of Spain before being presented to His Majesty King Henry the Eighth. The species was offered by the Golden Horde's Temporal Armada1 in an attempt to secure aid for the failing Mongolian Empire. The group was seized at the attempt, and the Temporal Armada departed soon after.

Alchemist Asserstion

The group shows some signs of improperly used alchemy, which could have lead to more, unknown abnormal properties besides those already documented.

Abnormality

The grouping is, as previously stated, far larger than any other members of the species. Additionally, they are consistently at a temperature sufficient to boil water, and intermittently expel fire from their bodies in undefined locations. They do not appear to be harmed by this.

The entities are friendly as a rule, and will not willingly harm a human being save for via the intermittent jets of flame. This poses some difficulty in containment, and the entire group has been contained within a large stone room beneath one of our establishments. The structure has been reinforced multiple times, as the species will try as a group to approach the nearest human in order to demonstrate affection and servitude.

Additional information

Alongside the actual species, related documentation was recovered. It was originally written in Mongolian using Chinese script, and has since been translated and repaired for speakers of the King's English.
